The Home Department of Pakistan's Punjab province has announced that, as part of its campaign to detain and deport undocumented migrants, 139,902 Afghan nationals have so far been detained.
According to the department, these individuals were deported to Afghanistan after completing the required legal procedures. Punjab authorities stated that the process of identifying, detaining, and repatriating foreign nationals without valid legal documents is continuing in coordination with the relevant agencies.
The authorities said the measure is part of the Pakistani government's policy to repatriate migrants who do not possess legal residency documents.
