Women ministers and senior officials from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will gather in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, on Sunday to participate in the 9th Session of the OIC Ministerial Conference on Women.

According to the organizers, representatives from the OIC’s 57 member states, along with OIC officials, observers, and a number of prominent women leaders, will attend the two-day conference to discuss women’s rights, empowerment, and participation across the Islamic world.

Pakistani officials said the conference will focus on strengthening women’s political, economic, and professional participation, improving their access to financial resources and technology, and reducing the digital gender gap.

In a statement, the OIC said the conference aims to enhance cooperation among member states and create opportunities to increase women’s role in the social and economic development of Islamic countries.
