Poverty, unemployment, and the lack of job opportunities have pushed young Afghans towards dangerous irregular migration routes, a journey that ends in death in the deserts for some of them.

According to published reports, nearly 20 Afghan migrants have died in the deserts of Nimroz. Two weeks later, the bodies of 14 people were also found in desert areas of Helmand and Nimroz.

Many young people travel to Iran and other countries with the help of human smugglers in search of jobs and a better life. Along the way, they face dangers such as thirst, extreme heat, and getting lost in the desert.

These incidents have once again raised questions about poverty, unemployment, and the lack of a clear future for Afghanistan’s younger generation—a generation that risks its life in search of a livelihood.
