Rashid Khan, the Afghanistan national cricket team star, has become the first bowler in the history of men’s Twenty20 Internationals to reach 200 wickets.

He claimed his 200th wicket on Thursday, 29 October, during Afghanistan’s match against Zimbabwe in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The milestone came in his 120th T20 International appearance.

In the same match, Afghanistan scored 221 runs, with outstanding performances from Azmatullah Omarzai and Ejaz Ahmadzai, before defeating Zimbabwe by 19 runs. Omarzai played a key role in Afghanistan’s victory, scoring 116 runs off 50 balls, while Sikandar Raza’s 106 runs were not enough to prevent his team from losing.

Rashid Khan had previously become the first Afghan bowler to take 200 wickets in One Day Internationals. By achieving the same milestone in T20 Internationals, he has further cemented his name in the history of world cricket.
