Mohammad Nabi Khalili, the owner of Omid Sabz Township in western Kabul, has called on the Taliban authorities to reconsider their decision regarding the confiscation and evacuation of the township.
In a statement, Mr. Khalili said that Omid Sabz Township was established on the basis of valid Sharia deeds, official ownership documents, clearance from relevant authorities, and legal permits. He emphasized that following the court’s ruling, he pursued all available legal avenues, including filing formal objections, requesting a review of the documents, and seeking legal remedies through the relevant institutions.
He further stated that the case of Omid Sabz Township should be reviewed impartially and in accordance with valid documents, Islamic principles, legal standards, and the principles of a fair trial. According to him, any decision made without a thorough examination of the evidence could undermine public trust in the judicial system and legal security.
The request comes after the Taliban’s Ministry of Justice announced that more than 1,500 jeribs of land belonging to Omid Sabz Township in western Kabul had been declared state-owned and that the implementation of the eviction order was underway.
