The Taliban have arrested Mullah Yahya Anabi, one of the group's clerics in Panjshir. Reports indicate that the arrest followed clashes between students at his religious school and Taliban forces in Anaba district.
The Green Trend movement, led by Amrullah Saleh, also said in a statement that fighting broke out between the madrasa students and Taliban members after Taliban forces arrived at the school.
Mullah Yahya Anabi is considered one of the Taliban's well-known clerics in Panjshir. His speeches—particularly those concerning women, Shia Muslims, critics of the Taliban, and the implementation of Sharia law—have sparked widespread reactions on social media. However, he has also criticized the Taliban's performance on several occasions.
