Like millions of talented Afghan teenagers, Hayatullah has been unable to showcase his talent under Taliban rule due to a lack of facilities and what the report describes as neglect by officials of the Afghanistan Football Federation and the talent identification department of the Afghanistan National Olympic Committee. His talent remains undiscovered, like a precious treasure buried beneath the ground.
Through his difficult football freestyle moves, the teenager has attracted more than 13,000 followers and millions of views on his Facebook page.
Afghanistan is a country with millions of talented young people. However, its football remains at a relatively low level in Asia compared with neighbouring countries, and officials of the Afghanistan National Olympic Committee under Taliban rule have been unable to bring positive changes to the committee.
