The body of Shapoor Zadran, former Afghanistan national cricket team player, was transferred to Kabul today, where a number of national team players gathered at Kabul International Airport to pay their final respects.
According to reports, the former cricketer will be laid to rest at Tappeh Nader Khan in Kabul.
Shapoor Zadran passed away at the age of 38 after several months of battling Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), a rare and life-threatening disorder of the immune system. He died at a hospital in New Delhi, India.
Zadran was regarded as one of the key figures in the development and success of Afghan cricket and played a significant role in many of the national team’s historic victories.
