Shafiqa Honardost, a Hazara artist, marked September 25, the day commemorating the Hazara genocide, by sharing her views on the historical suffering and violence against Hazaras and emphasizing the continuation of advocacy and the pursuit of justice.

Referring to the era of Amir Abdur Rahman Khan and the events that followed, Honardost said: “From Abdur Rahman to today, the wounds of the Hazaras remain fresh.”

She went on to speak about the killing of civilians, children, and mothers, describing the continued violence and suffering of Hazaras and emphasizing that the chain of oppression has continued over centuries.

The Hazara artist also emphasized the pursuit of justice, writing that the voice calling for justice has remained silent in many cases, but history will not forget these injustices.

In recent years, September 25 has been commemorated by some Hazara activists and organizations as a day to remember the victims of the historical killings and persecution of Hazaras.
