Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, has once again called on the Taliban authorities to prevent Afghan territory from being used to launch attacks against Pakistan.
Emphasizing Islamabad’s desire to maintain good and constructive relations with Afghanistan, Sharif said Pakistan seeks bilateral cooperation and regional stability. However, he added that Pakistan expects the Taliban administration to prevent armed groups from operating from Afghan soil.
His remarks come as Pakistani officials have repeatedly expressed concern in recent months over an increase in attacks by armed groups, particularly Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), alleging that the group operates from within Afghanistan.
The Taliban administration has consistently rejected these allegations, insisting that it will not allow Afghan territory to be used against any other country.
