Local sources say the body of Hashmatullah, a former officer of the Afghan National Army, has been found in Kapisa province after he had been missing for several days.

According to the sources, Hashmatullah served as a company commander in the Fourth Brigade of the 201st Silab Corps before the collapse of the former Afghan government. The sources added that he had been detained by Taliban forces several days earlier in the Abedkhil area of Jabal al-Siraj district in Parwan province.

Local sources said the body of the former military officer was transferred to Kapisa Central Hospital after several days. According to them, severe signs of torture were visible on his body. His relatives also claim that his eyes had been gouged out.

The Taliban authorities have not yet commented on the incident or on the allegations made by local sources.
