Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson has said that the Taliban government must decide whether it wants to improve relations with Pakistan or continue supporting and maintaining ties with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
According to the spokesperson, maintaining links with the TTP is incompatible with expanding bilateral relations between Kabul and Islamabad, and the Taliban must adopt a clear position on the matter.
Pakistan has repeatedly accused the Taliban government of allowing TTP members to use Afghan territory to carry out attacks against Pakistan. The Taliban, however, have rejected the allegation and insist they will not allow Afghanistan’s territory to be used against any country.
