Tamadon TV has announced that, in response to what it describes as “lawlessness, pressure, and disrespect,” it has ended its silence and will resume broadcasting, with a strong focus on its online activities.
The media outlet said that previously, following recommendations and mediation efforts by religious scholars, elders, and well-intentioned figures, and with the aim of creating an opportunity for a peaceful resolution to the problems, it had refrained from continuing its broadcasts.
Tamadon TV says that officials from the Taliban’s Ministry of Justice entered the Khatam al-Nabieen Religious Seminary and harassed and arrested a number of students and professors at the institution.
The outlet added that from now on, it will publish documents, evidence, correspondence, commitments, and details of its negotiations with the Ministry of Justice so that the public can judge the course of the dispute.
The media outlet emphasized: “We say no to oppression, and the era of silence in the face of lawlessness, coercion, and disrespect toward academic and religious institutions has come to an end.”
