Zain-ul-Abidin Abid, the Taliban’s governor in Nuristan, has accused the United States of supporting armed opponents of the Taliban through Pakistan and the country’s military intelligence agency, the ISI.

Abid said that the United States has, “based on a plan and conspiracy,” assigned the project of destabilizing Afghanistan to Pakistan and the ISI. He also accused anti-Taliban groups of being, according to him, “in the embrace of Pakistan, the ISI, and in American camps.”

The Taliban governor in Nuristan made these remarks on Sunday, 18 Asad, in an interview with the Taliban-controlled National Television, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Taliban’s return to power.

He also accused the Taliban’s armed opponents of fighting for personal interests and called on the leaders of these groups to send themselves and their children to the battlefield.
