The Taliban’s Ministry of Justice has announced that a special court responsible for handling land-grabbing cases has officially designated 532 jeribs of land in Ghaibi Baba Township, located in the Kot-e-Khair Khana area of Kabul’s District 17, as state-owned property.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, the decision was made after reviewing land ownership documents, official records, and cadastral data, in accordance with Article 17 of the Law on the Prevention of Land Grabbing and the Recovery of Usurped Lands.
The Ministry of Justice stated that Ghaibi Baba Township covers approximately 1,042 jeribs of land. The court’s investigation concluded that more than 532 jeribs, divided into four cadastral sections, had previously been surveyed and officially registered in the name of the state.
Construction of Ghaibi Baba Township began in 2013. According to available information, the head of the township is Qamar Khan Rahmanyar.
The announcement comes as the Taliban administration has intensified efforts in recent months to review and determine ownership of lands it considers subject to the country’s land-grabbing prevention and land recovery laws across several provinces.
