Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan’s prime minister, said on Thursday, 30 Mizan 1405, at a meeting of the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan in Peshawar that terrorist attacks originating from Afghan soil continue in Pakistan, killing innocent civilians and security personnel.

According to Pakistani media outlet UrduPoint, Sharif called for a complete end to these attacks, referring to the growing insecurity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

He also said Pakistan had paid a heavy price in terms of casualties and financial costs in its fight against terrorism.

The remarks come amid continued tensions between Pakistan and the Taliban authorities in Afghanistan over the activities of armed groups and cross-border attacks. Taliban officials have previously rejected Pakistan’s allegations that Afghan territory is being used to launch attacks against Pakistan.
