Some local sources said that Juma Khan Fateh had engaged in armed resistance against Taliban forces in Badakhshan over the past several months. However, after some time, he returned to Kabul and publicly denied having any disagreements with the Taliban.
According to these sources, after returning from Kabul to Badakhshan, Fateh once again took up arms and began carrying out armed attacks against some Taliban units.
