Local sources in Nuristan Province say that heavy rainfall and flash floods in the Barg-e-Matal district have caused extensive damage to local residents.
According to the sources, the incident occurred on Monday afternoon, August 3, in the Owla Gul area of Barg-e-Matal district, where floodwaters inundated parts of the region.
The sources added that an estimated 200 homes may have been damaged by the flooding. However, no official figures on the exact extent of the damage or any possible casualties have yet been released by the relevant authorities.
