Marshal Abdul Rashid Dostum Responds to Former Afghan National Army Soldier’s Appeal for Help
According to Afghanistan International, Abdul Rashid Dostum, leader of the National Islamic Movement of Afghanistan, contacted Mohammad Alam Alamdar, a 28-year-old former Afghan National Army soldier, after the media outlet published a report about his situation and promised to support him and his family.
Alamdar, who fled to Iran after the Taliban returned to power, had previously appealed to Abdul Rashid Dostum and Ahmad Massoud to pay attention to his situation. He said that despite years of service in the security forces, he is unable to cover his family’s expenses.
According to Afghanistan International, during a phone call with the former soldier, Dostum said that “these days will pass” and that positive developments and better days are expected to come to Afghanistan in the near future.
