The Afghanistan National Independence Front has issued a statement expressing condolences over the death of Commander Hasib Panjshiri, known as “Hasib Qawa-e Markaz,” a senior commander of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, along with several of his comrades in clashes with the Taliban. The front described the incident as a major loss for forces opposed to the Taliban.
The statement said that Hasib Panjshiri had resisted the Taliban for five years and remained committed until the final moments of his life to what the front described as the “path of dignity, freedom, and resistance.”
The Afghanistan National Independence Front further emphasized that the commander’s death would not prevent its forces from continuing their activities and struggle, claiming that others are prepared to carry on this path.
The statement also criticized groups and individuals who, according to the front, have chosen the path of compromise with the Taliban, saying that history will judge their actions and choices.
The front concluded by offering condolences over the death of Hasib Panjshiri to the leadership of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, his comrades, his family, and the people of Afghanistan, while reaffirming its commitment to what it described as the “path of freedom and dignity for Afghanistan.”
