The Afghanistan Meteorological Department has warned that from August 3 to August 5, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall, flash floods, and rising river levels in several provinces across the country.
According to the warning, the provinces of Paktika, Khost, Paktia, Logar, Maidan Wardak, Kabul, Laghman, Nangarhar, Kunar, Nuristan, and Badakhshan are at risk of flooding.
The department has urged residents living near rivers to avoid approaching riverbanks and flood-prone areas during periods of rising water levels and flooding, and to follow the guidance and instructions issued by the relevant authorities.
The warning comes as recent floods in parts of Afghanistan, including Nuristan Province, have caused casualties and significant property damage.
