U.S. authorities have announced the arrest of a 40-year-old man in Los Angeles on allegations of threatening to kill Donald Trump, the president of the United States.
According to an indictment issued by a federal court, the individual faces three charges, including threatening the president, cyber harassment, and making harassing telephone calls.
Federal officials said that, in addition to posting threatening material targeting Trump, the arrested individual also allegedly targeted Trump’s personal attorney and members of the attorney’s family with online harassment and abuse.
The case is currently being pursued in federal court, and the allegations against the individual have not yet been finally proven in court. Under the presumption of innocence, the accused is considered innocent until a final court ruling is issued.
