A Taliban member has claimed in a conversation with Will Bailey, a British traveler and content creator, that he killed 14 people during clashes in Panjshir province.
According to a video published by Bailey on YouTube, the Taliban member said the people who were killed had been targeted on allegations of membership in the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan. However, the claim has not been independently verified.
On Monday, October 5, Bailey published a video titled “4 Days in the Most Dangerous Country in the World,” documenting his four-day trip to Afghanistan. During the trip, he traveled to several Afghan provinces with Taliban members and, in parts of the video, fired a Kalashnikov. He also spoke with Taliban members at checkpoints about the war, weapons, personal life, marriage, and the situation of women.
In part of the conversation, the Taliban member spoke about his activities in Panjshir and claimed that he had killed 14 people. The exact time, location, and circumstances of the incident are not clear from the published video.
There have previously been reports of people accused of links to the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan being killed in Panjshir. The National Resistance Front, led by Ahmad Massoud, is one of the armed groups opposing the Taliban.
