Noorullah Noori, the Taliban’s Minister of Borders, Ethnic Groups and Tribes, said during a gathering in Sar-e Pol province that those who had been “tested” over the past 20 years have no right to use the slogan “Freedom of Afghanistan” to build political fronts or mobilize support.
He also claimed that opponents of the Taliban have no place in Afghanistan, arguing that the public has already seen their performance over the past two decades.
Since returning to power in 2021, the Taliban have dissolved political parties and imposed broad restrictions on the political activities of their opponents.
