India’s national cricket team defeated Afghanistan by 127 runs on Thursday night, September 17, in the third and final match of the T20 International series.
India scored 221 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 108 runs off 34 balls and completing his century in just 30 balls—a record for the fastest century by an Indian player in T20 internationals.
Afghanistan, in response, failed to chase the target of 222 runs and were all out for 94 runs in 14.1 overs. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Ravi Bishnoi each took three wickets, while Axar Patel dismissed two Afghan batsmen.
With this result, India won all three matches of the series. The defeat was also reported as Afghanistan’s heaviest loss by runs in the history of the team’s T20 International matches.
