An Afghan young man, reacting to reports of mobile phones being smashed by some Taliban members, says: “Instead of destroying mobile phones, sell them and use the money to support poor and needy families.”
He adds that in the 21st century, mobile phones are essential tools for daily life, education, work, and communication, and that destroying them does not solve any problems.
Referring to the difficult economic situation faced by many families in Afghanistan, he asks: “Why are you smashing mobile phones when the money from selling them could help several needy families?”
He emphasizes that assisting the poor and making proper use of available resources would be far more beneficial for society than destroying items that people need in their everyday lives.
